Welcome to Heart of Serengeti. By accessing or using our website or booking a safari with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. Booking and Payment

  • Reservation Confirmation
    A booking is confirmed only when we receive a signed booking form and a deposit or full payment (as required).

  • Deposit & Balance
    A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before your safari start date. If the booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.

  • Payment Methods
    We accept payments via bank transfer, credit/debit card, or approved online payment gateways. All transfer fees must be paid by the client.

2. Pricing

  • Inclusions
    Prices include accommodation, meals (where stated), park fees, transport, guide services, and activities as specified in your itinerary.

  • Exclusions
    International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, tips, personal expenses, and optional activities not listed are not included unless otherwise agreed.

  • Price Changes
    We reserve the right to adjust prices due to government taxes, fuel prices, currency fluctuations, or third-party service provider changes.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • By the Client
    Cancellations must be made in writing. The following charges apply:

    • More than 60 days before departure: loss of deposit

    • 59–31 days: 50% of total cost

    • 30–0 days: 100% of total cost (no refund)

  • By Heart of Serengeti
    We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disaster, political unrest). In such cases, we may offer a full refund or reschedule, but are not responsible for costs such as international flights.

4. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers. It must cover medical emergencies, cancellations, personal belongings, and travel delays. Proof of insurance may be required before your safari begins.

5. Travel Documents

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have valid travel documents, including:

  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)

  • Tourist visa

  • Vaccination certificates (e.g., Yellow Fever, if applicable)

6. Health & Safety

We prioritize your safety, but participation in our tours involves inherent risks. Heart of Serengeti is not liable for illness, injury, accidents, or loss during your trip. You acknowledge that all activities are at your own risk.

7. Itinerary Changes

While we strive to follow the planned itinerary, we may make changes due to weather, wildlife conditions, or availability. Any such changes will be in the best interest of the overall experience.

8. Liability

Heart of Serengeti acts only as an agent for accommodation, transport, and activity providers. We are not liable for loss, injury, damage, delay, or inconvenience caused by third-party service providers or force majeure events.

9. Behavior

Clients are expected to respect local laws, cultures, wildlife, and the environment. We reserve the right to terminate the safari of anyone whose behavior is deemed unsafe or disrespectful, without refund.

10. Use of Images

We may use photos or videos taken during your safari for marketing purposes, unless you request otherwise in writing before the trip.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising will be handled under Tanzanian jurisdiction.
