A private lodge safari in Tanzania offers travelers an exclusive and personalized way to explore the country’s remarkable wildlife and natural landscapes. Guests enjoy the flexibility of traveling with a private safari vehicle and professional guide, allowing the experience to be arranged according to their interests and preferences. The safari can take you through some of Tanzania’s most renowned wildlife destinations, including Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park, while staying in comfortable private lodges surrounded by nature.
After a morning briefing at your hotel in Arusha, which will serve as the starting point for the safari, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. Known for its stunning savannah scenery, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and water sources, the park is particularly famous for its large elephant populations.
During the game drive, you will follow the wildlife around the Tarangire River, where many animals gather to drink and feed. You may encounter a variety of species, including giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, gerenuks, and fringe-eared oryx. The park also supports large numbers of buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, which attract predators such as lions. Leopards may occasionally be spotted, while cheetah sightings are less common.
With the open-roof safari vehicle providing excellent visibility, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscapes and wildlife. Later in the afternoon, you will leave the park and continue to your lodge for an evening of relaxation.
passing through the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes approximately 6 hours, including scheduled stops along the way.
One of the highlights of the journey will be a short stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint, where you can admire the magnificent panoramic scenery of the famous crater. You will have around 20 minutes to enjoy the view and take photographs.
You may also have the opportunity to visit a traditional Maasai community and learn more about their unique culture, lifestyle, and traditions. This cultural experience is optional and provides an interesting insight into the history and customs of the Maasai people. The visit is not included in the safari price and normally costs approximately USD 10–20 per person, depending on the community.
Duration: approximately 20–45 minutes.
Later in the afternoon, you will continue into Serengeti and begin an extended game drive around the Seronera area, located in the central part of the park. As the afternoon progresses, you will have the opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat while enjoying the beautiful Serengeti sunset. Depending on the day’s sightings, you may encounter predators such as lions, leopards, or cheetahs, and with some luck, witness an exciting hunting scene or a predator feeding on its catch.

Around midday, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some time to pack your belongings. After lunch, you will continue with a final game drive as you gradually make your way out of Serengeti.

All meals included
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. The main focus of today’s exploration will be searching for the rare and endangered black rhino, one of the most difficult animals to spot in the crater. Thanks to the crater’s enclosed landscape and open grasslands, a wide variety of wildlife can often be observed within a relatively small area.
Following the game drive, you will stop for lunch before continuing with a final wildlife exploration. Later in the afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and return to the camp to collect your luggage and prepare for the journey back to Arusha. You will then continue to your hotel in Arusha for the evening.
