Your safari then continues to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a unique natural setting renowned for its abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery. After exploring these remarkable destinations, you will return to Arusha, where your 4-day luxury safari comes to an end.
Begin your adventure with an early morning flight from Zanzibar to Serengeti National Park, landing at Seronera Airstrip. Upon arrival, your private safari guide will be waiting to welcome you before setting off on your first game drive through the heart of the Serengeti.
The Serengeti is one of Tanzania’s most iconic wilderness areas, celebrated for its endless savannah plains and exceptional concentration of wildlife. As the country’s oldest national park, it forms part of an ancient ecosystem that has remained remarkably unchanged for millions of years.
The park is renowned for its rich wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and large herds of wildebeest. It is also the main stage for the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, when enormous herds of wildebeest, together with zebras and other antelopes, move across the plains in search of fresh grazing and water. The timing and location of the migration vary each year according to seasonal rainfall.
After enjoying a picnic lunch, continue with an extensive afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the park and searching for wildlife. Later in the day, make your way to your partner tented lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Lunch and Dinner
After an early breakfast at the camp, set out for another exciting game drive across Serengeti National Park. Today’s exploration takes you through the Seronera Valley, one of the park’s most wildlife-rich areas and a rewarding destination for year-round game viewing.
The valley’s open plains and scattered rocky kopjes provide excellent habitats and viewpoints for a variety of wildlife. Predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas are frequently seen in this area, often using the elevated rocks to scan the surrounding grasslands for potential prey.
Throughout the drive, keep an eye out for a wide range of animals, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topi, warthogs, zebras, and other resident species. With the guidance of your experienced safari guide, you will explore the Serengeti at a relaxed pace while looking for memorable wildlife encounters.
Later in the day, return to your carefully selected tented camp for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
All meals included
After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and make your way to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. The descent leads you nearly 600 metres down to the crater floor, where an extraordinary wildlife experience awaits.
From above, the crater resembles a vast hidden wilderness enclosed by dramatic volcanic walls. Inside, you’ll discover a remarkable landscape of open grasslands, acacia forests, lakes, and seasonal wetlands. This extraordinary natural formation was created millions of years ago when a massive volcanic mountain erupted and subsequently collapsed, leaving behind the immense caldera seen today.
As you descend and begin exploring the crater floor, wildlife encounters become almost immediate. Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles can be seen moving across the plains, while the wetlands and lakes attract a remarkable variety of birdlife, with more than 500 species recorded in the area.
Ngorongoro also offers one of Tanzania’s notable opportunities to encounter the endangered black rhino. With some luck, these rare animals may be spotted grazing across the open grasslands during your game drive.
All meals included
After an early breakfast, leave your accommodation and travel towards Tarangire National Park for a full day of wildlife exploration. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as a vital water source for animals, particularly during the dry season when many other water sources become scarce.
Tarangire is characterized by diverse landscapes, from open grasslands and towering elephant grass to acacia forests and lush areas of groundwater vegetation. The park is especially famous for its large elephant herds, which are often seen gathering around the Tarangire River. During your game drive, you may also encounter giraffes, hartebeests, bushbucks, and numerous other wildlife species.
The presence of abundant herbivores also attracts a variety of predators, with lions and leopards among the species that may be spotted throughout the park. Tarangire is equally impressive for bird enthusiasts, supporting an exceptional diversity of birdlife and numerous breeding species.
After enjoying a picnic lunch, continue with an extended afternoon game drive before beginning your journey back to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha later in the day, marking the end of your safari adventure.
