The Lake Natron Tour offers one of the most unique wildlife and nature experiences in northern Tanzania. Located near the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, this remote destination combines dramatic landscapes, flamingo colonies, waterfalls, and volcanic adventures.
During the Lake Natron Tour, travelers explore the shores of Lake Natron, an alkaline lake famous for hosting one of the largest flamingo populations in the world. Every year, nearly 1.5 million lesser flamingos gather here to breed, making the area a spectacular destination for bird lovers and photographers.
The region also provides a rare opportunity to experience authentic Maasai culture and explore wild landscapes far from the usual tourist routes.
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by your professional tour guide/driver in Arusha town ready for beginning your two days adventure. It takes 4 hours’ drive from Arusha to the famous alkali Lake Natron. You will pass in a rough road through scenic landscapes to Oldonyo Lengai Mountain.
This lake is the world’s only breeding ground for more than 1.5 million Lesser Flamingos. You will watch the flamingos, learn about the surrounding environment, while the main activity of the day is Engaresero waterfalls tour before evening heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Climb Maasai Mountain of God To Arusha
At midnight hours, 1.00 am drive to the starting point for climbing Mt Oldoinyo Lengai, the only active volcanic Mountain in Tanzania- also called Maasai Mountain of God, then trek 4 hours to the summit and have a view of Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Meru, and view of Ngorongoro Crater. In the morning, you descend down for breakfast, lunch, and relaxation at the camp.

After breakfast, you will have another chance to see more of Lake Natron. Morning visit Lake Natron to see a flock of flamingos and other species of water birds and swim to the Munge thundering waterfalls, then we will drive back to your lodge for relaxation and prepared for your midnight trek. Drop off in Arusha.
